Fostex FE103-sol; Preliminary Result

Published on May 11, 2014
Limited edition of Fostex FE 103, a long seller full-range 10cm unit is driven by a 6B5 (dynamic-coupled triode, maximum power 3W) single-ended amplifier. The unit provides high sensitivity (90dB, 8 ohm) and it can be easily driven by low power tube amplifiers.
Because of sharp and straight character, the unit may not require enclosures like bass-reflex or back-loaded horn, and flat-baffle or open-back baffle might be recommended.

CD player: CEC CD2300
The amplifier consists of 3 parts; the power supply (heater voltage 2.5V, 4.0V and 6.3V, B+ 220-350V 170mA), the amplifier (6B5 SE in the present case) and output transformers (Tango XE-20)
